A Solana data stream through Yellowstone gRPC
Yellowstone exposes validator updates through the Geyser interface and Protocol Buffers. A persistent Subscribe connection lets you receive updates as a stream instead of repeatedly polling JSON-RPC. Your client chooses the update types, commitment and filters it needs.
Account filters can follow selected account keys or program owners. Transaction filters can follow included, excluded or required addresses. Slot notifications and block metadata support applications that track chain progress. Match the commitment level to the decisions your application makes.

Connect a Yellowstone-compatible client
- Choose gRPC and a region in the console. Register the public IPv4 address your client uses for outbound connections.
- Save your subscription token in a private file or secret manager. Send it as x-token metadata on the TLS connection.
- Open Subscribe with the accounts, transactions or slots your application needs. The receiver below can first check connectivity with slot updates.
- Keep handlers responsive, reply to stream pings and reconnect with backoff after errors. Handle duplicate updates and connection gaps in your application.

Frankfurt or Amsterdam: test from your server
Both services are available in Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Choose based on your receiver's location and actual network route. A geographically closer region is a useful starting point, but routing and local load can change which feed reaches your application first.
Subscriptions are managed separately by service, IP and region, with daily or 30-day billing in USDC and manual renewal. Check current service status before running your comparison.
Inspect updates and compare gRPC feeds
The Rust receiver supports accounts, transactions and slots, TLS authentication and JSONL output. The separate gRPC latency tool compares the arrival of matching events across compatible feeds using the same receiver, commitment and filters.
Read our Solana streaming latency guide for a repeatable setup and an explanation of percentiles, unmatched events and receiver bottlenecks.
Before you connect
Is Yellowstone gRPC a replacement for every JSON-RPC method?
This service provides streaming Subscribe access. Do not assume it includes transaction submission, historical queries or every unary RPC method. Use a separate JSON-RPC endpoint for application operations that require it.
Can the same token connect from any IP or region?
A subscription has one token and a registered source IPv4 address for its selected region. Use the region's endpoint and your authorized server. Manage source-IP changes and token resets in the console.
How should I evaluate latency?
Compare matching events on the same receiver and keep the full report, including coverage and local diagnostics. A first-arrival difference is a relative measurement, not absolute latency from the Solana leader. Repeat at different times before choosing a route.
